Vans celebrates the art of embroidery in the Anaheim Factory Needlework collection

With the Anaheim Factory collection, the Californian brand revisits its archives paying tribute to over 55 years of footwear design history and tradition.

For this season, the Vans Anaheim Factory collection recalls the past with a range of shoes and clothing inspired by the original embroidered offerings that were designed and created in collaboration with customers themselves.

Creativity and self-expression have been at the core of Vans‘ ethos since the beginning. In the mid-’70s through the ’80s, Vans sold embroidery kits, inviting customers to choose their own designs or create DIY designs, then returning them to the factory for the creation of a personalized pair of Vans. Continuing in this tradition, this June the brand offers an assortment of three models inspired by the past, each interpreting the very first deck shoe, the Authentic 44 DX, in different ways. Available in three patterns (retro floral designs, a skull print, and a multicolored checkerboard pattern), the Authentic features a canvas upper meticulously decorated with a print that captures the essence of the original embroideries. Each Authentic is finished with a tone-on-tone marshmallow-colored sole and an OrthoLite insole.

The Anaheim Factory Needlework collection is now available online and at select Vans retailers. For more information, visit the official website Vans.
