Tomas Maier revisits the iconic sneakers Roma 1968 by Puma. The internationally renowned designer and creative director of Bottega Veneta since 2001, who founded the brand Tomas Maier in 1997, melding craftsmanship and perfection **Made In Italy** with a casual and contemporary style, has collaborated with the sportswear brand under the Kering group to restyle the sporty shoes, in a limited edition of 200 pieces, available online on the website Tomasmaier.com and in selected stores.
“1968 was a year of excitement for the design world,” explains the German designer, “and this collaboration reflects the aesthetic of those years but with an innovative and essential approach, typical of our brand.”
The Roma 1968 shoes were created by the sports brand in 1968 to celebrate the Italian national football team, winners of the European championships. For this reason, the designer has chosen to make them unique with the iconic palm tree motif on the soft leather upper and a minimal monochromatic design with contrasting Formstripe.
