We have played with consoles, computers, some of us even with behemoths that took up half the room. But will we also play with sneakers?
Just imagine, we are in the middle of our fitness session and suddenly we feel an irresistible urge to continue the video game we had paused. No need to bend down, take off our sneakers (or maybe not, if you are good at contorting), and off we go to new and amazing adventures.
One might think it’s some kind of legend like the Kraken, but then you come across these on TikTok:

These sneakers are called Master Race and are the result of a collaboration between Artifact Studios (RTFKT), a creative brand founded in 2020 that specializes in creating collectible sneakers (both virtual and physical) inspired by the gaming world, and NZXT, a PC hardware manufacturer.
They may not be ideal for running, but they have an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 card that seems to work perfectly. Artifact Studios had already made a name for itself with its sneakers inspired by Among Us and Cyberpunk 2077, but this is on another level.
The reactions have been varied (and we’re not sure how to take it either). On one hand, there’s enthusiasm for a visually powerful project that opens up new frontiers in gaming and wishlists for important events. On the other hand, seeing something you like but not knowing if you will ever have it in your hands is quite frustrating, and we’re not just talking about prices. Do the sneakers work? Can you really load games on them? But most importantly, do they really exist? We remember that the Artifact Studios team managed to fool many with the Photoshop of its cybershoes worn by Elon Musk at the Met Gala.
Something tells us that we may never get our hands on these sneakers, but in the end, regardless of how things turn out, credit is due for the brilliant move. And we look forward to the future holding surprises in terms of new ways to have our favorite video games at our fingertips.
