The Salomon XT-Wings 2 by JJJound are the ideal sneakers for summer. They represent a perfect mix of classic and modern elements, blending technical footwear with streetwear, a synthesis of Salomon and JJJound.
JJJJound and Salomon are two of the most prolific names in contemporary street culture, but they had never collaborated until now. The masters of minimalism based in Montreal have just posted a teaser of their first project with the French sportswear company on their Instagram: an elegant and branded version of the XT-Wings 2. Originally introduced in 2011 as a high-performance trail shoe with a bulky midsole, the same version used on the original XT-4, and a flashy upper. The XT-Wings 2 were then streamlined and made much slimmer upon their reintroduction as a lifestyle product. This change made them particularly appealing to JJJound‘s taste.
How the sneaker is made
At the time of writing, only one image of the collaborative design has been shown, which features several key details: the custom JJJound logo on the midheel and a color combination that pairs candle white and bone tones with sporty and bright blue accents.
The XT-Wings 2 are one of the lesser-known models in the Salomon Sportstyle line. They do not have the same popularity as models like the XT-6 or the ACS Pro Advanced, but it is likely that their fame will grow thanks to the new partnership with JJJound. It is not unrealistic to imagine that this release could lead to a series of new versions of the XT-Wings 2. Boosting a model through a stellar collaboration and then followed by multiple consecutive releases is a common marketing tactic in the trainer industry. Salomon itself recently used it with Sandy Liang and the XT-6 Expanse.
