“Back to the Future” is undoubtedly one of the most iconic films of recent decades, as well as a true manifesto of 80s style reinterpreted in a futuristic key. An aesthetic that, almost thirty years later, has returned to captivate the general public, from design to fashion, which still does not forget the iconic pieces of those years. And when it comes to stylish mementos, among cinema and fashion enthusiasts, it is impossible not to think of the Nike Air MAG worn by Michael J. Fox in the film’s sequel: in 2016, the famous sneakers that self-lace in the film were reproduced in an ultra-limited series of only 89 pieces, in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. But now, the original shoes are the ones for sale.
American Eagle has indeed launched a collaboration with Urban Necessities, one of the most successful companies in footwear reselling, to create a unique in-store shopping experience in New York, at 599 Broadway, where the main protagonists will be the shoes from “Back to the Future II”. In the shop window, some of the world’s most sought-after sneakers, including special collections by Wahlberg 4 and DJ Khaled, with prices ranging from 150 to 50,000 dollars. But undoubtedly, the most admired shoes will be the fantastic – and futuristic – Nike Air MAG from Marty McFly, which will likely offer those who admire them in person, and not just the lucky one who purchases them, a small taste of time travel.
