The Nike Dunk Low Brazil expands to four for its anniversary

If you thought 2023 was an important year for the Nike Dunk, wait until you see what’s in store for 2024. Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the Nike basketball shoe, and to celebrate this milestone, the American sportswear company will bring back some of the most famous colorways, including the legendary Nike Dunk Low Brazil.

Originally released only in Japan, the Brazil is made of leather and features a Pine Green and Varsity Maize color palette, clearly inspired by the flag of the South American country, almost like a reversed version of the Oregon.

The swoosh spans the lateral and medial panels, while the brand logo is present on the tongue and the heel logo on the back. The sneaker is completed with a pair of all-white laces, just like the OG Dunks of the past.

Although the Dunk has been around since the ’80s, its popularity has always been overshadowed by the Michael Jordan line. It wasn’t until 2020 that the attention for the silhouette began to skyrocket. In fact, according to the latest data from trend analyzer Glimpse, interest in the Dunk has increased by 62% in the past year. This surge is due to sought-after colorways like the Panda and collaborations with major fashion names such as Clot, Jarritos, and Supreme.

The Nike Dunk Low Brazil will officially be available in spring 2024 along with the Plum for about 129 euros. Unlike the original Japan-exclusive version, it will be available through Nike, the Snkrs app, and select retailers worldwide. Some pieces, however, can already be purchased on Farfetch and the resell site StockX.
