The Nike Air Force 1 Terror Squad is a sneaker that has been in Nike‘s archives for 20 years. This model, which the swoosh brand distributed only among a select few, is now in 2023 finally decided to put on sale massively, more or less.
Terror Squad was a hip-hop crew founded in 1998 and originally from the Bronx, New York, originally led by Big Pun and Fat Joe. The final lineup was composed of Remy Ma, Armageddon, Prospect, Cuban Link, Triple Seis, Tony Sunshine, DJ Khaled, and producers Cool and Dre. Terror Squad originally consisted of Big Pun, Fat Joe, Cuban Link, Angie Martinez, Triple Seis, Sunkiss, and Domingo.
In short, Terror Squad was an authentic all-star formation. The Nike Air Force 1 Terror Squad is not exactly a new concept, as Nike produced several exclusives for Fat Joe and his team almost two decades ago.
From an elite model, the shoe will be available to everyone for the first time in 2023. The sneaker has a simple yet elegant design, signed by Bruce Kilgore. They are white and black, with the “TS” logo of Terror Squad embroidered on the back of the shoe with a shiny neutral thread, in line with the cursive letters “JC,” in reference to the pseudonym of Fat Joe (Joey Crack) stitched on the heel tab.
In 2007, DJ and streetball personality Bobbito García featured Fat Joe in his It’s the Shoes series on ESPN, focusing on celebrities and high-level athletes and their shoe collections. Fat Joe was called as one of the guests on the show, and during his segment, he showcased a large amount of rare Jordans and sneakers, including many Nike Air Force 1 Terror Squad that were produced exclusively for his friends. Almost two decades later, those AF1s finally have the chance to be released for sale.
The first colorway officially revealed by Nike adopts a simple black and white motif reminiscent of yin and yang. The overlays and swooshes are made of grained leather and coated in black, while the toe boxes, quarter panels, and interiors are treated in white. As previously mentioned, the “TS” logo of Terror Squad is embroidered on the side of the heel, while “JC” appears on the heel, an abbreviation for Joe Crack, Fat Joe’s nickname.
