The new Versace sneakers are Versace to the nth power

The name of the new Versace sneakers is prophetic: Trigreca. For those who know, even minimally, the history of the Maison, they know very well that the Greek key motif is one of the most iconic of the brand, which first used it in the Fall-Winter 1988 collection as a reference to Magna Graecia, always part of Versace’s heritage. The Greca is a geometric motif created from a single continuous line that in ancient Greece was present on temples, representations of labyrinths, palaces, and ceramics. Symbol of infinity and unity, it reflects a recurring theme in Versace’s creations, in fact, it is proposed as a decorative motif on the three parts of the new Trigreca sneaker: the sole, the side, and the decorative stripe on the upper part.

First seen on the runway of the Fall-Winter 2020 collection, the Trigreca enriches the already extensive Versace sneaker line. It is a model with a Very Versace spirit thanks, in fact, to details inspired by the brand’s unmistakable aesthetic codes. The Greca Cushioning System adds support and comfort, as well as offering increased height. Milan’s geographic coordinates are printed on the sneaker as a reference to the location of Versace’s HQ. Another iconic brand signature is the 3D Medusa head positioned under the sole.

The black, white, green, blue, and red versions of the Trigreca sneaker are available exclusively on Versace.com and in a select number of boutiques. Versace will collaborate with the e-commerce platform ssense.com for a broader launch in November with new color variations.
