Since we never tire of talking about them, we have selected the new and most beautiful sneakers to take on vacation. The latest releases are characterized by streamlined silhouettes and high-tech textures, colorful and fun. Sporty footwear to pack in your suitcase or show off in the city and at the forefront of fashion; many of these are actually previews of the upcoming F/W 2019-20 collections. New Balance, for example, introduces the new 997 Sport for the Fall 2019 season, characterized by a design inspired by the classic 997 launched in 1991, but with an even sleeker profile for a contemporary and modern look. The distinctive feature of the 997 Sport is the heel counter, a modern version of the “fins” of American cars from the ’50s/’60s, while the new tubular construction ensures a more snug fit, also thanks to the TPU insert that provides increased support. Also drawing inspiration from the ’90s and the hexagonal cell cushioning technology CELL introduced for the first time in that decade, the Puma CELL Alien OG makes a comeback this year in its original form, the OG Original, with a mesh upper for maximum air circulation, an IMEVA midsole for excellent energy return, and a rubber outsole for maximum grip and traction. Bursting with color are the Nike Air Max 270 React Bauhaus – paying tribute to the famous German art and architecture school celebrating its centenary – a shoe born from the fusion of different layered materials without seams, with contrasting color blocks and soft cushioning for maximum comfort. Since we are in summer, in addition to colorful models, total white ones cannot be missing. The new Ace sneakers by Gucci, high, in white leather with a Gucci jacquard ribbon detail that characterizes the velcro strap closure, are inspired by the logo bands of sports tracksuits from the ’80s. Totally white instead are the Thunder knit sneakers by Prada, with 3D effect masks and a bulky yet lightweight rubber sole, and the Climbers by Valentino Garavani, in fabric and leather with a metallic VLOGO detail on the upper. Featuring a pink sole, a color trend for seasons to come, are the Union sneakers by Burberry, in nylon and mesh fabric and characterized by the revamped new logo. We conclude our review with a model that stands out from the others for its decidedly more minimal design. This is the new adidas City Series London, with the iconic ’70s silhouette. A true must-have in limited edition.
