The new sneakers from Salomon and Palace Skateboards are a real bomb

In recent years, Salomon has grown to become one of the most appreciated names in the global market specializing in functional footwear. The French brand was founded in 1947 and is known primarily for its trail sneakers, but, as is increasingly happening for those who prioritize function over form, it has been recently revitalized by some of the most innovative players in the fashion industry in line with the gorpcore trend inspired by trekking. Comme Des Garçons founder, Rei Kawakubo, has consecrated the brand’s value with an open collaboration earlier this year, while the most hippy retail space in Paris, The Broken Arm, has launched its version of trekking sneakers, as has German designer Boris Bidjan Saberi. Salomon has become the footwear brand of style-conscious personalities like Bella Hadid, Rihanna, musician Dev Hynes, and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi.

Salomon and Palace Skateboards

Today, Palace Skateboards, a London-based skateboard and clothing company that has built its brand reputation on unconventional collaborations with Rapha, Stella Artois, and Cannondale, has just announced its third partnership with Salomon. Palace and Salomon first met in 2018 and produced a pair of black Speedcross, but this time the former is giving the partner’s XT-6 style a decidedly jazzy look: flashy and more lively.

The XT-6, launched in 2013 and characterized by a slim silhouette and ultra-comfortable Sensifit construction, caters to runners who love to cover very long distances, over 50 kilometers. For this important partnership, Palace has designed a trio of models in bold colorways. The first pair is available in neon yellow, green, and purple. The second in a sandy hue with the unmistakable camo design, while the third in the series comes in black with bold neon accents along the sole and eyelets. Of course, each model is marked with the Palace and Salomon logos.
