The New Balance season has been really intense. From the big collections to even more important collaborations, in the last three months the hype around the Boston sportswear company has skyrocketed. Now, just as the days shorten and the nights grow longer, summer ends with a bang thanks to the New Balance 990v6 “Pale Yellow”.
Produced as part of the highly requested “Made in USA” collection by Teddy Santis, the new sneaker is made on a base of soft yellow mesh, overlaid with panels of real leather and suede pigskin. The lacing system, tongue, and “N” logo feature dark green accents, while the model number “990” is impressed in silver foil on the side heel for a retro touch.
The sole is sculpted in white and gray and is infused with Encap foam by New Balance to provide greater comfort and cushioning. The “Pale Yellow” model is finished with the “Made in USA” print on the back, to remind that this sneaker was made in the land of Uncle Sam. (“Alexa, play Bruce Springsteen on Spotify”).
Although the silhouette of the 990v6 is relatively new, as it was introduced only in December of last year, it has already made a mark in the sneaker world. In April, the famous rapper/chef/wrestler/TV host Action Bronson released a model, and last week the Japanese streetwear brand Wtaps presented a pair that is both understated and highly branded.
