This new NB model features three different shades of gray depending on the material. From a taupe shade on the suede, to a medium gray on the synthetic leather, and a metallic gray on the mesh close to the military look used by the Japanese brand on their own creations, rather than the East Coast style of Boston.

The version includes other modifications, such as the more prominent positioning of the USA label on the heel counter, as well as WTAPS details on the rear area and insoles. Essentially, though, they are the same classic 990s and the idea behind the collaboration is to pay homage to the history of a line that has been a game-changer and has been one of the most sought-after and appreciated for decades.

At the moment, it is known that the shoes will be available on the WTAPS website starting from August 26. It is expected that they will subsequently be available on the New Balance website and at other selected retailers, but it has not been confirmed yet. The price should be around 300 euros. In the meantime, however, they can already be found on resale sites like StockX.

For those who are unable to get their hands on them, there are always alternatives like the 990v6 "Grey Core", slightly darker but equally versatile. On BSTN, for example, it is on sale for 189€.
