Louis Vuitton LV Trainer Upcycling
These sneakers are part of Louis Vuitton’s creative recycling project called the Upcycling which was presented by Virgil Abloh during the S/S shows in Tokyo and Shanghai. The trainers are made of calfskin leather, with visible stitching and the cursive Louis Vuitton signature on the side. In addition to the LV logo on the tongue, an iridescent address holder makes it special. The rubber sole features a Monogram flower pattern, while the logo on the back is new and was designed specifically for this project. The upper appears intentionally “unfinished” to convey the concept of recycling. The flagship model of the French fashion house is proudly Made in Italy, crafted at the footwear Atelier in Fiesso D’Artico in the Brenta Riviera. On the runway, it was paired with electric blue tailored trousers, a perfect emblem of the hybridization concept of street style with formal wear.
Dior B27
The B27 sneakers embody the spirit of sportswear beloved by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior Men’s collections. The trainers flaunt a metropolitan, sporty yet refined style, drawing inspiration from various sources, from the vintage charm of 80s tennis shoes to the skateboarding universe. Available in high and low versions and offered in black, grey, and white, the iconic colors of the maison, these sneakers have an upper with panels that create a three-dimensional effect, constructed with a combination of leather and nubuck featuring the Dior Oblique and Dior Oblique Galaxy jacquard logo. The B21s are designed to be paired with contemporary tailored suits.
Prada Rev
The name refers to the technical jargon of pilots (rev the engine, which means to accelerate). In high or low version, the sneaker Prada is focusing on is a reinterpretation of footwear used in racing. Made of leather with three-dimensional designs, screen-printed logo, sacchetto construction with sole inserted and sewn directly onto the upper, velcro closure, and removable insole. This footwear is characterized by extreme flexibility, sportiness, and performance. On the catwalk, it was paired with a total look in white technical fabric, balancing between utility and futuristic.
Gucci Ultrapacer R
The Gucci Ultrapace sneaker line is part of the Epilogue collection and is inspired by the world of running shoes reimagined in a futuristic way. Instead of traditional laces, the new model features an adjustable wheel closure with the GG logo. A hybrid design that blends influences from different decades. Styled to be paired with a boho look featuring denim bermudas and neutral ankle socks.
Valentino Garavani Macramé sneaker
Intentionally genderless appeal for these sneakers, with the upper covered in macramé craftsmanship, an iconic technique of the Maison for Couture garments. For the first time ever, this craftmanship is applied to accessories and ready-to-wear clothing. Available in 3 colors – yellow, black, and tan – they are best paired with printed and flashy suits.
Bottega Veneta barefoot sneakers
The name is yet to be assigned, but this hybrid model between a sneaker and a slip-on is definitely set to make a statement. A combination of different identities echoes functional technicality and active wear for a lightweight and snug sneaker, with a slim silhouette that molds to the foot like a second skin. Made entirely of rubber and technical fabric with Barefoot technology to maximize performance and comfort. Their minimalistic aesthetic calls for an equally minimalistic look, playing with neutral tones and fluid fits.
Balmain BBold
Provocative, irreverent, and statuesque. These are the words to describe the new signature sneakers created by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. Structured with 2 independent soles, wrap-around up to the ankle, segmented rubber sole with a studded effect, and thin lace closure. Available in black, white, and contrasting black and white panels. They contrastingly pair well with exaggeratedly voluminous tailored suits, worn under bermuda shorts resembling cycling tights.
Versace Trigeca
One of the sneakers that best embodies the aesthetic of the Medusa brand with its prominent Greek key motifs and eye-catching look. The Trigeca sneaker showcased on the S/S 2021 runway evolves with new print and color variations: the new styles include a variant in shades of dark blue in line with the underwater theme of the show, and a duo of graphic versions in black and white with the iconic Barocco print. The Greek key motif, symbolizing infinity and unity, is a recurring theme in Maison’s creations and in this case, it decorates three parts of the trainer: the sole, the lateral side, and the decorative strip on the top. The Greca Cushioning System adds support and comfort, while offering a height boost. Milan’s geographical coordinates are printed on the sneaker as a reference to Versace’s HQ location, and the unmistakable Medusa head is 3D printed under the sole. They effortlessly pair with Miami-style rapper tracksuits as well as more elegant monochrome trousers.
