The most popular sneakers of 2020? No, not those from Lidl, at least according to the list just drawn up by Lyst and StockX together. The renowned global fashion search platform has partnered with the world’s number one sneaker reselling marketplace to compile the definitive list of the most trendy sneakers of this year. To do this, the two combined and reanalyzed their global databases, taking into account – among other things – sales from the release week, average resale price, and markup over retail price.
This year, groundbreaking collaborations like Dior x Air Jordan have led to five-figure resale prices, cultural milestones like “The Last Dance” have propelled old models to new sales peaks, and sustainability has taken center stage thanks to forward-thinking models like Nike’s Space Hippie. The ten sneakers in this list have captured the attention of the new generation of consumers and provide a glimpse into the future of the market,” explains Jesse Einhorn, Senior Economist at StockX.
In order of popularity, here are the 10 sneakers that had the biggest impact on fashion searches this year.
1. Air Jordan 13 Retro Flint
Thanks to the docu-series The Last Dance, the Air Jordan 13 Retro Flint has become the best selling sneaker of the year on StockX.
