A journey far away among Native Americans, Aztec populations, and Maya ones. Fashion for s/s 2018 lets us savor magical atmospheres through garments and accessories with original workmanship and rich decorations. The result is striking: embroideries, beads, fringes, and trimmings adorn jackets, bags, and footwear inspired by Native American culture. Navajo geometries and intricate Jacquard will give an original and very cool touch to your wardrobe for the upcoming season.
From the runways of Valentino, Stella McCartney, Coach 1941, MSGM, Issey Miyake, Ports 1961, and of course, Etro, many eccentric pieces with a folk and ethnic flavor catch the eye. Here are some proposals to recreate this mood. As accessories, you can opt for the Saint Laurent backpack with Ikat patterns, the army green canvas Valentino Garavani tote bag with multicolored ethnic beads and embroideries, or the cheerful Loewe shoulder bag that can be worn in different ways. All perfect accessories to pair with denim pieces like the Pence 1979 patchwork vest and Wrangler by Peter Max jeans.
The final touch? A buckle-worked belt like the one by Givenchy. If a fringed jacket seems too daring of a choice, an excellent alternative could be the studded suede jacket by Dirk Bikkembergs. When it comes to footwear, the options are plenty as well. The Saint Laurent sneakers feature the same motif as the aforementioned backpack, the suede slip-ons by Moreschi are adorned with a Maya-inspired print, while both Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton offer a sporty model, very similar in style, in suede. The former brand opts for fringes and beads, while the latter focuses on hand-sewn stitches and the Triple V application on the upper.
