Even though the official start date of sales in Italy is Thursday, January 5, 2017, some men’s fashion e-commerce sites (such as Mr Porter) have already started offering clothing and accessories at discounted prices up to 50% off.

As the first shopping tip for the winter sales, here is a selection of cool and performance-driven sneakers, thanks to the latest generation of technological materials they are made with, which made 2016 even more street style and young.

One rule? Choose shoes with minimal design and basic colors. When buying during sales, the secret is to buy the item or accessory of the season that is closest to the no-season items, also known as “continuatives” by industry professionals: those that remain unchanged, season after season, because they are iconic of the brand. This way, you can wear your shoes throughout the next season, and no one will notice that your purchase was made at a discounted price, months before.
