In a hypothetical top five of male style errors (or rather horrors), the short sock for men stands out, shamelessly exposing hairy ankles even in the late winter. The tough and pure prefer it in white sponge – better if frayed, for a vintage look – and flaunt it nonchalantly in Teutonic sandals or the reassuring sneakers of the moment, not willing to give up the coveted mix of warmth and comfort.

Following closely in the style errors list is the unmistakable fanny pack in soft technical material, with elegant leather inserts in the most precious versions, available in classic black for today’s businessman, but also in more delicate shades of indigo or amaranth, ideal for the more eccentric and dreamy man. The continuous versions feature a convenient waist attachment, a hands-free accessory ahead of its time designed to facilitate urban movements. The real gem, however, is the practical and carefree version with a rope shoulder strap, appealing to a contemporary man who knows tradition but also looks towards the future.
When it comes to accessories, the leather belt with a significant consonant-shaped buckle is a must-have, with the size directly proportional to the ethical cost of the object, which in turn ensures an immediate rise in social consideration within the wearer’s reference group. Also included in the list of debatable style choices is a hairstyle inspired by a football champion, complete with an excess of gel and Mohawk-like shaved sides. Lastly, the field of footwear is not exempt from scrutiny: the sneakers will be a size larger to accommodate the thickness of the sponge sock, accessorized with essential air chambers under the sole, to be worn casually under a suit or acrylic shorts to comfortably get through the day. Whether at an art opening or a game at the parish, the true connoisseur will prefer pastel tones like silver and cyan, the timeless must-have colors of male elegance. No neon here.
