Star Wars, all the fashion inspired by the Star Wars saga

Few things in pop culture have elicited as much nostalgia and devotion from fans as the Star Wars saga. Since its debut in 1977, this legendary science fiction fantasy has held a unique place in the collective imagination, a place that fans are eagerly waiting to revisit thanks to the latest movie, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” To celebrate this momentous event, many fashion brands have dedicated pieces or entire collections to the saga. For example, Levi’s partnered with Disney and Lucasfilm to create a special edition collection that celebrates the epic story of Star Wars, from t-shirts to hoodies, the iconic trucker jackets, and jeans in a range of finishes. Each piece features iconic elements from the Star Wars galaxy, with famous archive graphics of beloved characters and spacecraft from the original films, as well as recognizable film quotes printed or embroidered on the back and sleeves including “I am your father,” “in a galaxy far, far away…,” and, perhaps the best of all, Chewbacca’s immortal roar, “GGWWWRGHH!!!!.” Adidas also pays tribute to the saga with the AlphaEdge 4D sneaker, the cross-training shoe returning in a collector’s edition that honors the famous saga through details inspired by the Death Star and the iconic quote on the heel. This versatile and cutting-edge model features a 3D printed lattice midsole that provides targeted support and cushioning where it’s needed most. The design, created to deliver exceptional performance during cross-training sessions, is completed by a flexible and breathable Primeknit upper. The Star Wars galaxy is also celebrated in the Etro capsule collection. The line of garments and accessories was unveiled on the brand’s runway during the latest Milan Fashion Week for men’s Spring/Summer 2020 collections and includes a selection of iconic urban wardrobe pieces. Among them are hoodies, crew neck sweaters, two shirts, five different t-shirts, and a bomber jacket, all enriched with digital prints taken from frames of iconic Star Wars episodes from the Seventies and Eighties. These include “A New Hope” from 1977, where Etro drew images of some of the most beloved positive characters from the saga like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C3PO, R2D2, BB-8, and finally Yoda, Kean Etro’s favorite character, featured in another print depicting a scene from the second episode of the saga, “The Empire Strikes Back” from 1980. The Italian Independent glasses also pay tribute to the saga with a limited edition – only 90 pieces – dedicated to true fans. The mask-shape sunglasses are inspired by stormtroopers and feature a photoluminescent finish. Moleskine also presents an entire collection of limited edition planners dedicated to the iconic figures and universes of the saga. Available in 18 or 12 months versions, with daily or weekly layouts, in pocket or large formats.
