Sneakers of October, the models to bet on

With autumn come many new sneakers. On the other hand, the desire to add some new models to the wardrobe to face the mid-season with determination is stronger than ever. Among iconic re-releases, new interpretations, and deluxe versions, here are the models to bet on according to us at Gq.

Saucony Originals

The drop of the Saucony Originals’ Shadow 6000 continues to soar, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first model’s release. The latest is Destination Unknown, a limited edition version that combines neon details with a classic and muted palette for a versatile result. The upper armor is constructed with an interweaving of panels in premium suede and premium leather, enriched with details like reflective inserts, micro-perforated toe cap, and subtle contrasting stitching on the forefoot. As in the predecessors, the midsole is made of PWRRUN, a super soft, light, and cushioning blend that makes the fit extremely comfortable. Hidden gem? There is a map trace drawn on the tongue.

Lacoste

Referencing the past but looking to the future are the L001 sneakers from Lacoste, drawing inspiration from the brand’s tennis tradition of the iconic crocodile. The key details of these sneakers are taken directly from the archives, primarily from the Rene, the very first shoes created by the founder, and from a vintage 1980s racket. The shape is intentionally neo-retro with lines that trace graphic triangles on the upper. The base remains the classic white leather, on which sharp lines and a calibrated use of colors stand out: field green, deep navy blue, light mahogany, plum, saffron, red, and mint.

New Balance

Following the success of the first, New Balance introduces for the autumn season also the second release of the Fresh Foam More Trail, the New Balance Fresh Foam More Trail v2. A super performing trail sneaker that mounts a Vibram XT Trek EVO sole, able to provide exemplary grip, especially on wet surfaces, combined with protection and pro-level cushioning. The focal point is the tread that includes strategic cleats that reach a maximum height of 6.5 mm and provide long-lasting multidirectional traction on any type of terrain. Built using recycled polyester material, the enveloping upper is capable of protecting the foot from all types of debris.

Tomorrow Creation

Dior

Dedicated to fashionistas who do not give up on the logo but seek performance as well, the B30 sneakers designed by Kim Jones for Dior. Borrowed from the running world, they incorporate premium technical materials, such as microfiber and mesh, guaranteeing flexibility and lightness. An eye-catching detail is the CD monogram with aerodynamic graphics inspired by French modernism, deployed on each side in a reflective version, as well as on the sole and heel. Available in five colors: black, white, olive, beige, and lime.

Etro

Colorful, eccentric, and with an ethnic twist are the EARTHBEAT, the new unisex chunky sneakers from Etro. Made special by a multi-texture and multi-pattern processing, with shades recalling the natural earth tones. The upper is a mix of suede, Paisley patterns, jacquard, and inserts in smooth or printed fabric, embellished with some unexpected details like fringes, highlighter laces, turquoise studs, zigzag stitching, and the embroidered logo on the tongue. The oversized rubber sole was created in collaboration with the Italian company Vibram, a world leader in the sector, structured to enhance the anatomical and dynamic lines of the shoe.

Under Armour

Sleek and snug are the new Under Armour A HOVR Mega 2 Clone, the latest running model from the UA HOVR family and the brand’s first to offer a customized 1:1 fit through the new UA Clone technology, which flexes and adapts to the moving foot, providing maximum cushioning and enhanced comfort. With a 32 mm foam height under the heel and new Adaptive Upper technology, it proves to be an ideal running shoe for those seeking maximum protection during training and desiring a smooth, soft, yet very responsive roll.
