Sneakers of July, the models to bet on

If July is usually a hot month due to the heat, it is also for the sneakers worth investing in. With summer officially here, the desire to refresh one’s collection of sneakers rises along with the temperatures. With the arrival of the beautiful season, there is a natural preference for crisp uppers, but also a vibrant color upgrade. Here are our choices.

Fila

The aesthetic of the new runner FILA REGGIO comes straight from the 1970s jogging culture, reinterpreted according to contemporary streetwear aesthetics. The model dedicated to the male world features a white colorway with navy contrasts and beige touches in mesh and leather. In all variations, the oval graphics reminiscent of a racing track surround the logos on the tongue, heel, and insole. The Energized FILA midsole ensures maximum comfort.

Fresh Rags x Saucony Originals

The collaboration between sneaker boutique Fresh Rags and Saucony shines a light on environmental conservation. The new Grid Web MANATEE pays tribute to the manatee, a native animal of Florida that needs to be preserved. The shoe has a decidedly refreshing aesthetic and is inspired by the lovable aquatic mammal: the gray suede upper resembles its skin typically covered in algae, green branches on the rear panels leading to a vintage white midsole resemble water grass, while the two-tone icy sole reflects the sparkle of spring water. Hidden detail: the insole is decorated with a manatee swimming in its aquatic habitat. The release will be available globally at selected retailers starting from July 17, exclusively at FreshRags.com from June 26.

Reebok x Power Rangers

Inspired by the original ’90s TV series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” this new collection sees Reebok team up with Hasbro for a line that will appeal to fans of the genre (and those who always feel a bit like a child). The line outfits Reebok’s icons, both performance and lifestyle, with the powers of the five Power Rangers Red Ranger, Black Ranger, Blue Ranger, Pink Ranger, Yellow Ranger, and Megazord. Vivid colors, embossed or serrated elements reminiscent of cartoons, and metallic finishes are combined with athletic performance.

New Balance

A return to the roots with the MADE 990 Version Series that New Balance launches by drawing inspiration from versions no longer on the market but still ingrained in the collective imagination. On July 9, the American brand will release a limited edition of the 990v1, followed by other series with the numbers 990v2, v3, and v4. Each archive model will feature a ruby red tag on the tongue and an engraving on the insole with the original version and year of creation. Additionally, the sole, insole, and dust bag will bear the image of the clock tower at the New Balance factory in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The iconic color? Gray, of course!

Diadora

The Olympic flame is about to reignite in Tokyo with the 32nd edition of perhaps the most anticipated sporting event. To celebrate this occasion, Diadora has created the Mythos Propulsion 280, a shoe whose history coincides with that of champion Gelindo Bordin, gold medalist at the Seoul Olympics in 1998 and the first Italian to reach the highest step of the podium in this discipline. This model with aerodynamic aesthetics, a rubber sole, and mesh and synthetic leather upper, is the reissue of the celebratory footwear from 2008 created for the marathoner’s 20th anniversary victory. Special touches include metallic accents, reflective details reminiscent of medals, and a laurel leaf on the tongue, just like those used to crown winners in Hellenic competitions.

Puma x Ferrari

A powerful collaboration that merges Puma and Ferrari. The Ferrari ION F sneakers by PUMA are part of Ferrari’s fashion-led collection, inspired by the factories that produce the iconic sports cars of the Prancing Horse. Inspired by aerodynamics and engine thrust, these spirited sneakers embrace the iconic features of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale: the shape of the reflective TPU panel on the rear of the shoe resembling the dynamic front spoiler of the SF90, the magnetic fit-lock securely holding the feet, and the knit construction delivering a visually impactful design silhouette.

ACBC x Missoni

The colorful and flamboyant aesthetic of Missoni merges with ACBC’s sustainable philosophy in creating the first line of footwear with an eco-friendly spirit from the historic Italian fashion house. The Milanese start-up has reimagined some pieces from the archive to create a series of Made in Italy sneakers made using knit technology with overlay stitches and patterns. The ecological essence is provided by the materials used: components derived from wheat waste and recycling of plastic bottles.
