Five new models of special sneakers. Reissues of iconic footwear and international deluxe collaborations. Shoes that are increasingly performant, comfortable, with a design that is sometimes futuristic, turning them into cool accessories, true “objects of desire.” Here is a selection of sporty shoes hitting the stores this month.
NikeLab x Roundel Zoom SpiridonIn 2013, Nike collaborated with Roundel to create two models of Air Max to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. Today, the American sportswear brand collaborates with the English brand to celebrate the centenary of the Johnston font, the iconic typographic identity of Transport for London, by creating the NikeLab x Roundel Zoom Spiridon sneakers. They feature the font sublimated and printed on an all-over pattern, with a transparent, mesh insert covering part of the upper.
**adidas Originals **Tubular InstinctThe new shoe is characterized by a zigzag knitted graphic on the Primeknit upper. The structural panel on the heel area, together with the split midsole, give it a 3.0 design. Finished with tonal laces and branding, it represents a stylistic update even more minimal than the first version of the Tubular. The model’s exceptional testimonial and face of the new ad campaign is basketball superstar Damian Lillard.
Asics Tiger GEL-QUANTUM 360This sneaker celebrates the thirty years since the debut of the first Asics shoe with GEL technology, introduced in 1986. This technology improved the cushioning of sports shoes, and its development has evolved over the years, introducing changes to materials, shape, positioning, and design. Its history, full of trials and errors, represents a deep reflection on the brand’s philosophy of “never abandoning functionality and design.”
Le Coq Sportif x PartyfineA new collaboration with the French music label Partyfine. The LCS R800 model from the Parisian brand is presented in a monochrome version for the occasion. The result? A minimal shoe embellished with refined details, made with two different types of nubuck, smooth and perforated, creating a subtle silver-gray contrast, similar to the color of the compilation that the music label will release this fall.
Puma Clyde NYCAn original version of the iconic Clyde sneaker, offered in a new blue and orange combination, paying homage to the social colors of the team that the New York champion Walt Clyde Frazier played for ten seasons, winning two NBA titles. The new Clyde NYC features a premium suede upper and the number 10 printed on the heel, representing the sportsman’s first and historic jersey number.
