One of the most beloved combinations in fashion lately seems to be that of sneakers and TV show characters: after the Adidas inspired by the factions of Game of Thrones and Kakashi, one of the most beloved characters of Naruto, Nike is about to launch on the market a collection as fun as it is unexpected: tomorrow, August 10, the brand will unveil online and in stores a capsule that pays tribute to five characters from SpongeBob, one of the most ironic and popular animated series of the last twenty years.

This is a collaboration with basketball player Kyrie Irving, who has already designed several models for Nike, and in this case they will reflect the shapes and colors of SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs, and Sandy Cheeks in a sneaker that combines the Kyrie 5 and Kyrie 2 models.

The inhabitants of Bikini Bottom, the underwater city where SpongeBob’s adventures take place, are about to arrive on dry land and, in particular, on the basketball court: this is in fact one of Kyrie Irving’s favorite shows, who wanted to merge the design of his Nike sports shoes with his passion for the animated series, creating a unique pair of sneakers.

For instance, the model dedicated to the main character of SpongeBob is characterized by a bright yellow porous upper, resembling his sea sponge texture, with a brown and red sole symbolizing his daily outfit, the famous Square Pants.

His best friend, Patrick Star, is featured in his cheerful pink color and distinctive details like his shorts. Moreover, inside each shoe, every fan of the series will find the face of their favorite character at the heel level.

The price ranges from $110 to $130, and considering the popularity of the animated series, getting a pair won’t be easy.
