Sarah Burton has left Alexander McQueen

The English designer at the creative helm of Kering’s maison is leaving the brand Alexander McQueen

Burton started as an intern at the company during her studies in 1996 and returned after graduating from the renowned Central Saint Martins. In 2000, she became the head of womenswear, working closely with the brilliant founder until taking over in 2010 after his death. Since then, Burton has always respected the label’s heritage, enhancing its tailoring and, especially in recent years, also focusing on footwear and accessories.

Burton’s departure from Alexander McQueen is just the latest in a long series of separations that have affected the fashion world in recent months, starting with the split between Gucci and Alessandro Michele, which was followed by the departures of Jeremy Scott from Moschino and many others.
