Riccardo Tisci launches the new NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT

A few weeks after announcing his departure as the creative director of Maison Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci is ready to launch his new project. It’s a new sneaker that the designer created with Nike, a brand he started collaborating with in 2016 with the release of NikeLab Dunk Lux High x RT, Free Train Force Flyknit x RT, Transform Flyknit x RT, and Nike Air Zoom Legend x RT. For this season, Riccardo Tisci and NikeLab have created the new NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT, revisiting the proportions of the Dunk Lux High x RT. The shoe is inspired by Tisci’s passion for 80s skate and basketball culture and is offered in three color variations, white/black, red/white, and black/white.
“I believe the Dunk has something truly special about it. It’s the synthesis of sports culture and street style,” says Tisci. “For the new generations, it represents an accessory that can easily adapt to any style. I think the Dunk is one of the most iconic shoes Nike has ever created.” NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT inherits the exaggerated proportions from the Dunk Lux High, such as the oversized Swoosh. The shoe is made from hammered real leather to ensure durability and comfort; the insole is made of Lunarlon – a technical material that provides soft cushioning. The memory foam inside the quilted collar and tongue ensure a comfortable fit. The hole-less upper, high shell collar, and RT logo with Nike Swoosh on the heel are other features that distinguish this model from the original version.
The shoe will be available starting February 10th at NikeLab stores Bergdorf Goodman, NikeLab 21M, Dover Street Market New York, Kith BK, and Concepts NYC. It will later be available from February 23rd at all NikeLab retailers and on nike.com/nikelab.
