After the unusual announcement in recent days where two boxes of adidas shoes emerged from a white Prada bag, the first images of the much-talked-about collaboration between the two brands have finally arrived. The result of this highly anticipated collaboration, Prada for adidas Limited Edition, is a tribute to adidas Originals’ iconic sneakers, the Superstar sneakers originally launched in 1969 as basketball shoes and now an emblem of the brand’s style, beloved by the youth and also customized by artists like Pharrell Williams. The sneakers, of which only 700 pairs will be produced, are sold together with a new bag silhouette, the Prada Bowling for adidas, also in white leather like the shoes, which merges the classic Prada Bowling Bag silhouette with the functionality of an adidas gym bag.
COLLECTION DETAILS
Needless to say, each piece of this collaboration – the price of which is currently unknown – is made by Prada in Italy. The Superstar sneakers are reinterpreted using Prada’s top-quality leather for the upper with adidas Originals’ iconic rubber shell toe. Finished with a preformed fish scale pattern rubber sole, the sneakers feature three serrated stripes and the Trefoil logo on the heel alongside the Prada logo. The Prada Bowling for adidas bag is made of calf leather with a nylon sports shoulder strap and the Prada and adidas Originals logos displayed at the top center of the bag.
Each piece will have a serial number and will be available online on adidas.com and prada.com and at selected Prada stores worldwide.
