In the past, the legendary Pony sneakers were worn by Franco Harris and Dan Marino as they made history in the NFL, Pony also were the sneakers that Reggie Jackson celebrated his Home Run Number 500 in after wearing them for entire seasons with the New York Yankees. In the NBA, players flew high with Pony: Bob McAdoo, Cedric Maxwell, Earl Monroe, David Thompson, John Havlicek, Darryl Dawkins, and the all-time phenomenon, Wilt Chamberlin. Those shoes became a cult object among young Americans, eventually becoming synonymous with sports in a broader sense, endorsed by Pelé, Giorgio Chinaglia, and Paolo Rossi during their time with the New York Cosmos. The brand also closely followed the most important champions of individual sports from boxing to tennis: Larry Holmes, Leon Spinks, and the legendary Muhammad Ali, who danced in their canvas Pony shoes. Tracy Austin, Roscoe Tanner, Mark Edmonson won US Opens and dozens of international tournaments.
From sports to music, from hip-hop to breakdancing, from skateboarding to street art cultures, the sneakers born in Manhattan in the early seventies have also conquered the lifestyle and style scene, to the extent that one of the most exclusive stores in Milan, Antonia, has collaborated to create a limited edition collection. With a heritage spirit but a strong contemporary image, the shoe is made using ultra-soft white nappa leather, the lace and heel tag details are in a unique olive green, and a slight perforation outlines the V logo that characterizes Pony.
