The crew of the Berlin store Overkill has never hidden their obsession with the retro line of adidas ZX, which is reflected in this hybrid model that shows respect for past models with attention to OG materials like microfiber and mesh. The successful experiment of merging the iconic silhouettes of the ZX8000 and ZX9000 has given life to a new model enhanced with further details from the four-digit iconic ZX series.
From the vibrant materials of the neon yellow, pink, purple, and red upper, inspired by the color palette of the cans used for “Montana Gold” graffiti that hark back to the ’90s, to the cement effect mudguard, paying homage to the hometown Berlin, are just some of the references connecting Overkill to Adidas. The “Overkill” details are rounded off by the legendary Torsion in neon green, which includes not only the adidas trefoil but also the Overkill logo.
The Overkill x adidas ZX 8500 arrives on April 9, 2021, at midnight on Overkill. Merchandise and artistic creations from the 1UP crew will also be available while supplies last.
