PUMA chooses Michael Lau again to create a new special edition of the PUMA Suede.

Lau and PUMA have previously worked together to create the SAMPLE SUEDE by Michael Lau in 2017 and the SUEDE 50 series in 2018. The PUMA x Michael Lau Suede VTG follow the theme of his last two Suede iterations, drawing inspiration from the concept of a “sample” sneaker and his creative process. The zig-zag finishes of fabric samples are stitched onto the sneakers to create an asymmetrical industrial style that offers an experimental feel. The sneakers are bright and create a festive atmosphere with the poppy red color. Other design details include different color shades on the right and left shoes, expressing Lau’s deliberate concept of “disparate colormay.”

Based in Hong Kong, Michael Lau has achieved worldwide success for his collectible miniatures. Over the years, he has continuously created timeless artworks and has been hailed as the “godfather of toy figures.” The PUMA x Michael Lau Suede VTG are a preview of a wider collection from Michael Lau and PUMA, a complete line of sneakers, clothing, and accessories that will be launched in January.
