Exactly ten years have passed since New Balance and Stone Island joined forces to create a 577 sneaker that combined the features of both brands in a single shoe. On one side, the iconic silhouettes of the American company, on the other side, the cutting-edge materials of one of the symbols of fashion and experimentation in Italy and around the world. Over the past decade, the two brands, in addition to continuing their path to success, have established a new ongoing collaboration that began just two years ago. To celebrate this milestone, New Balance and Stone Island have announced the arrival of a new sneaker created jointly and dubbed 991 v2. Characterized by a sole adorned with the logo of the Massimo Osti brand, the shoe does not stray far from the 991 v1, except for the presence of FuelCell pads and some reflective details inspired by the shoe’s running roots.
Other sneakers part of the collaboration
Since the beginning of their new relationship in 2021, New Balance and Stone Island have already released a considerable number of sneakers: after the debut with the 574, the collaboration continued with the RC Elite SI and their V2 version, both created by the American brand’s Tokyo Design Studio. Just like the recent FuelCell C_1, released only a few months ago. The collaboration has not been limited to the lifestyle world but has also extended to sports with a pair of cleats and a football kit presented alongside Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling.
