After the controversial satanic sneakers by Lil Nas X and the red boots inspired by Astro Boy, Mschf is ready to surprise us once again with a not so shocking sneaker: the Super Normal 2 “Mint Green”. The rather simple silhouette introduced last summer is practically the Mschf version of the Air Force 1, but with an extra touch of weirdness injected into its DNA. Made from embossed white leather, every single piece of the shoe has been deformed and twisted to obtain an eccentric appearance. A series of asymmetric holes protrude on the front of the shoe, while mint green accents can be found on the midsole and lacing system. A response to this year’s Tiffany & Co x Nike Air Force 1 Low? Certainly not the craziest move that Mschf has accustomed the industry to.
Its strangeness extends to the sole underfoot with a raised design that is more in line with the bizarre style popular among West Coast brands. It’s a vibe! The Mschf logo is found around the heel while the typical graphics are positioned on the back in a bubblegum pink hue. All presented with a special steel dubrae, extra laces, and a limited edition box destined to become a must-have for sneakerheads and fans of the New York collective. Although Mschf has been around for six years, it has managed to make a name for itself in an industry dominated only by giant brands. Praised for its ability to think outside the box, Mschf is not only responsible for some of the world’s craziest shoes but has also released other products, starting from a cologne that smells exactly like WD-40 and a leather bag made in Italy… Texas.
After the initial release of the ‘Mint Green’ Super Normal 2 by Mschf through a raffle, a larger release will be announced later (although on StockX they are already available for resale, with prices starting from 497€). Although not as crazy as their other silhouettes, these sneakers could still be among our favorites of 2023.
