Louis Vuitton, the new sneakers designed by Virgil Abloh to ask Santa Claus for

That orange one is Virgil Abloh’s favorite. The tribute is to Chicago, his city. Then there are the blue ones dedicated to New York, the pink ones to Milan, the sky blue ones to Paris, the purple ones to Tokyo. In total, there are nine cities that Louis Vuitton’s creative director celebrates with the new LV sneakers, first presented on the catwalk of the Spring/Summer 2019 show, in what was Abloh’s debut for the French fashion house, and reinterpreted each season with different color and material combinations, flirting with nostalgia and drawing inspiration from basketball shoes. For this winter season, the laces and Monogram tags are colored, both with white details, the Monogram flowers are embedded all over the sole, while the LVM logo on the tongue stands for Louis Vuitton Malletier. The number 408 on the upper? The reference is to August 4, Louis Vuitton’s birth date, while the Louis Vuitton signature is handmade and can be found near the sole. The collection is limited edition, also because the assembly is a rather compressed process: the sole is made up of 20 different pieces and the upper of 106. There is also a cushion inserted in the sole. In short, a true collectible piece, perfect for a Christmas gift. You can find them starting today, December 5, in selected gentleman’s boutiques.
