The adidas Campus 00s are among the most searched terms on TikTok in recent days. What defines the success of a sneaker, more than collaborations and influencers, are the TikTok trends. After the adidas Gazelle and Samba became a global phenomenon, often becoming unavailable in stores, it now seems to be the time for another model brought back from the past: the adidas Campus 00s.

The story of the adidas Campus 00s dates back to the ’70s when they were known as adidas Tournament. The name Campus came in the ’80s, and the 00s version is a remake from the early 2000s, following the fashion trends of that era. True to its 2000s vibe, the Campus 00s could be described as skate shoes, characterized by a fat silhouette and tongue. While the reevaluation of skate culture trends makes sense within the huge aesthetic trend called y2k, the adidas Campus 00s stand in stark stylistic contrast to the huge success of Gazelle and Samba, which, after years of chunky shoes (who can forget the famous Balenciaga), brought back into trend a slimmer sneaker with very low soles, managing to revive models of shoes that hadn’t been seen around for quite some time, like the Onitsuka Tiger.

#adidascampus00s on TikTok has already been viewed more than 25 million times, and every day creators in their videos swear it could be the sneaker model of the summer. As with previous adidas models, much of the success is also due to the available colorway variants, further expanding the potential customer base.

The adidas Campus 00s are therefore the next hit sneakers, and the huge organic success they are achieving will certainly lead adidas to consider them as a flagship shoe around which to organize various collaborations, as was the case for the Samba with Gucci, Wales Bonner, and more recently Clarks. Last February, an exclusive model was released in collaboration with the international artist Bad Bunny.
