How many times have we wished we could go out wearing slippers? Well, in a way, now we can. For the creation of the Nike Cortez Kenny IV, a new slip-on version of the classic Nike Cortez, American rapper Kendrick Lamar drew inspiration from the traditional house slipper worn by many L.A. citizens, as evidenced by the visible and fun inscription HOUSE SHOES on the tongue.
The new Nike Cortez Kenny IV features a quilted insole that ensures a perfect fit and unprecedented softness. With the Kenny IV, Lamar, for whom fashion and lifestyle are synonymous, wanted to preserve the comfort of a slipper without sacrificing a sophisticated design. This experience allowed Lamar to deepen his knowledge about the design phase and reinvigorated his passion for Nike. Lamar stated that being able to collaborate with people who, like him, particularly enjoy the entire creative process was fantastic. This helped him understand that behind the creation of every Nike product, there is always a very specific purpose. The Nike Cortez Kenny IV “House Shoes” are currently available in select stores.
