The new frontier of luxury: hand-painted shoes. Shoes are adorned with new shades, often customized according to the client’s wishes, transforming into canvases where color takes shape through the hands of skilled craftsmen. Play of light and shadow, veils, patinas that give the shoe a sophisticated look; innovative finishing methods that bring unique pieces to life. True artistic expressions to add the perfect touch of color to this Spring-Summer 2016.
The leather of Kiton shoes, for example, originally all in their natural color, are dyed through meticulous and complex processes to obtain original and unique shades that allow the true personality of the shoe to shine through. The crocodile loafers and sneakers in vibrant colors offered by the Neapolitan company are perfect for this season to pair with a casual chic look. Speaking of sports shoes, among the most unique and original are the Venezia leather Playtime sneakers with “airbrush” effect by Berluti. A burst of color and energy is also the common theme for Fratelli Rossetti, presenting the double buckle models, the classic oxford, and the Brera moccasin in an original version: the leather sole is hand-painted and wax-polished in the same shade as the upper. All models are part of the Toledo collection, characterized by a special calf leather processing method, originally white, which is done while the shoe is still on the last. This technique allows for a wide range of colors and creates unique shoes that will never be created in exactly the same way because the leather is hand-stamped. You can find more neutral tones at A.Testoni offering the two-tone antique calf Derby in nude and dark brown, and at Church’s where the new “Crown Collection” embraces warm wood tones: the color application, strictly by hand, continues until the desired shade is achieved.
