Rain and sneakers, they don’t particularly get along. Because even by paying the utmost attention to puddles, even by choosing the largest umbrella available on the market, even by staying at a proper distance from passing cars’ splashes, the risk of arriving at the office – or in class – with irreparably wet feet is still very high. The possible solutions? Choosing other shoes, of course. Because tricks like waterproof fabric shoe covers are a bit ridiculous if used outside Venice.

However, an alternative now comes from the Japanese brand OnfAdd, which has designed a curious model of Rain Socks, rain socks. These are actual socks to wear over your sneakers, with a fairly tolerable design, which promise to keep your feet and shoes dry without making us look ridiculous to passersby. Made of natural rubber and reusable, these Rain Socks would offer a certain durability over time, thanks to a thicker layer of latex at the sole: the project is currently seeking financing on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, where a single pair of rain socks is available for about 12 euros (plus shipping costs). The first product deliveries are expected for next May.
