HANON x Diadora N9000 ‘Alternative Route’

Hanon and Diadora celebrate the 30th anniversary of the N9000 model by presenting “Alternative Route,” a sort of alternative reboot of the colorway not included in the Saturday Special pack, brought to light only today.

This alternative reboot of the N9000 is a continuation of the “Saturday Special” theme from 2014, inspired by the emergence of football casual culture and the impact of Italian sportswear in the UK in the 1980s. The fierce rivalries on football fields led to trouble, but they also intertwined with a sense of stylistic competition played out on stadium terraces, where brands like Diadora were proudly worn. At the height of the football fan disturbances, rail services were hired to ferry fans to away games for their own safety and that of others. These rail services used surplus carriages, and were known as “Football” or “Saturday Special“.

Hanon has opted for high-quality material on the upper, drawing inspiration from Diadora’s buttersoft football shoes and legendary 1980s tennis shoes. Consequently, this edition features an offset soft nappa application with rich pigskin overlays and is completed with the same premium mesh as the first two editions.

As with the original N9000 ‘Saturday Special’, the color palette of the HANON N9000 ‘Alternative Route‘ is once again influenced by 1980s trains and buses, a mix of aqua green and navy blue, with fire red accents contrasting against black on the tongue.

The HANON x Diadora N9000 will be available exclusively at HANON through an ONLINE RAFFLE starting on Friday, January 22nd, and ending on Friday, January 29th. Each pair comes with a complete set of three laces, gold foil labels, box, and a printed cotton dust bag.
