HANON x ADIDAS ZX420 “Luck of the Sea”

Fortune favors the bold! Hanon’s initiative recalls Willy Wonka’s golden ticket treasure hunt.

To celebrate the collab with adidas, Hanon came up with a fun initiative to promote the raffle for the new adidas ZX420 in an ultra limited edition. Luck and superstition play a significant role in the daily lives of fishing communities in northeast Scotland. Traditions of the land saw fishermen ensuring a safe passage home due to the perilous conditions of life at sea. A piece of metal was considered a good luck charm, as well as a single gold earring or a silver coin hidden in a sock before setting sail.

This collaboration takes inspiration from this concept: in each pair of HANON x adidas ZX420 “Luck of the Sea” sneakers, a type of lucky “coin” is hidden. One of these is a shiny silver version with a mirror finish and is contained in only 200 pairs. Those who find the shiny silver edition of the coin will receive a limited double box set with both versions of the ZX420.
