Crocheted Sneakers, Yes Please!

If the coolest grandma in the world decided to make sneakers one day, they would probably look a lot like this LC23 DropX in collaboration with StockX. Or, there’s no need to wait for grandma, as crocheting has become the ultimate hobby, between TikTok and the Olympic approval given by Tom Daley.

A limited series of Nike Air Force 1 Low, Nike Dunk Low, and Air Jordan 1 Retro High on a white base with handmade crochet inserts applied in Puglia, where Leo Colacicco, founder of LC23, established his brand in 2010 and where production is still maintained.

A total of 15 pieces for an extremely limited and artisanal drop, where each model requires a total of 48 hours of work, including creating the pattern, application, and stitching.

The season of drops and collaborations does not seem to be over, but rather moving towards new versions that are less massive and more attentive to smaller but unique and relevant realities for niche enthusiasts. Who knows, maybe it will even become a virtuous and sustainable approach in which major platforms can support local brands and craftsmanship, amplifying the possibility of reaching otherwise unreachable targets.
