The creative director of Dior Homme presents a capsule collection featuring the Chuck 70 and coordinated apparel.
Kim Jones has confessed to not being a nostalgic, he understands the values of the brand’s DNA and has his own perspective on how to renew the classic without altering its essence. After his creation some time ago, namely the Dior B23, clearly inspired by the timeless Chuck 70, he is now designing his first collection with Converse, reflecting on the archetypes of contemporary streetwear and classic American sportswear, offering a contemporary perspective.
This refined approach is how the design of the Chuck 70 was conceived, which is the centerpiece of the collection and merges the understated functionality of streetwear with the characteristics of sportswear. Built from scratch with the Converse design team, Jones wanted to experiment with the distinctive lines of the classic model. Changes include elongating and curving the rubber midsole, as well as creating a transparent TPU cage with practical lace eyelets, adhering to the refined 12-ounce canvas upper.
The collection is completed by four garments: a parka, a crewneck sweatshirt, a Cargo pant, and a t-shirt.
Converse x Kim Jones will be globally launched on April 8, 2021 on Converse.com and at select retailers, including in Italy, Antonia, Antonioli, One Block Down, Slam Jam, and Luisa Via Roma.
