Converse reignites focus on comfort with new designs Weapon CX, Run Star Motion, and Aeon Active CX.
Converse introduces new additions to its CX series that share ease of use and a progressive design ethos to propel movement. The CX range allows for both a new aesthetic and a new experience in terms of comfort, by designing new benefits and inspiring bold new forms. The toolkit is best defined by CX foam, enhancing impact absorption and maximizing long-lasting wear, with most new CX styles featuring new rubber sole designs for traction and durability.
Converse’s new proprietary CX product range includes:
- Aeon Active CX – A completely new silhouette that breaks conventions and explores a new design language pushing both Converse and its wearers forward in time and style. A stretch bootie construction and exaggerated heel kick allow for easier in-and-out wearability, while a drop-in CX foam is positioned underfoot, encapsulated by an EVA foam midsole to offer all-day comfort.
- Run Star Motion – An evolution of the popular Run Star Hike, the Run Star Motion is built from the ground up to provide a raised stance and lightweight comfort through a drop-in CX foam encapsulated by an EVA foam midsole and a newly conceptualized sole design.
- Weapon CX – A modern interpretation of the ’86 on-court shoe, with the original Y-bar for foot stability, an innovative pairing of CX foam midsole and insole, and a new sole designed to help support the stride.
- Chuck Taylor All Star CX – The original with a modern update, featuring stretch canvas, CX foam, and transparent foxing to showcase its midsole, energizing both in look and step.
The Converse Aeon will be released at the end of 2021. In the meantime, the Run Star Motion CX will be available globally starting June 16 on Converse.com and at selected retailers. The Chuck Taylor All Star CX and Weapon CX will launch later in the fall.
