Among the various announcements swirling around the internet, the collaboration between Bape and New Balance is probably the one we least expected to see this year.

It seems like yesterday but it’s actually been 30 years since BAPE started its business and during these three decades it has practically worked with some of the biggest brands on the planet. Bape products have been worn by artists like Kanye West, Bella Hadid, Justin Bieber, and many more. Among the various partnerships, the Boston-based brand is seemingly getting ready to release its latest silhouette.

Since its reintroduction to the market last year, the New Balance 2002R has been a huge hit among enthusiasts. Available in two colors, black and gray, BAPE has applied its distinctive aesthetic to the entire shoe with interesting results. The classic APE HEAD camouflage adorns the mesh on the toe and heel. The shark teeth graphic is also present from the midsection to the heel, complete with 3M reflective details. The BAPESTA star logo is also seen at the base of the tongue.

The BAPE x New Balance 2002R currently does not have an exact date in terms of an official release calendar. However, many sources suggest they could arrive in April 2021.
