Coming soon: adidas sneakers signed by Donald Glover

Donald Glover is undoubtedly one of the most relevant musical artists of recent years: a multi-award-winning actor, singer, writer, and rapper, last year he captivated millions with his song “This Is America,” a sharp and creative commentary on racism, gun violence, joy, spirituality, hip-hop, and entertainment in the United States. Since his fame skyrocketed, the singer has increasingly established himself as a style icon, merging elegant eclecticism and classic streetwear from red carpets to international stages. And what better way to affirm this new status than with a collaboration with one of the coolest and most representative brands of his personal style?

Donald Glover – or Childish Gambino, for those who prefer his stage name – has announced a creative project with adidas, which includes not only sneakers but also clothing and accessories: the collection, as suggested by the first images, takes inspiration from the hallmark that has always distinguished the sportswear brand, the “three stripes,” as well as 1970s influences. To announce the collaboration with adidas, Donald Glover also dressed up as a springtime “Santa Claus” at Coachella, handing out sneakers to lucky festivalgoers: using the Airdrop sharing system, the singer randomly sent photos of his first adidas shoes to internet users last Saturday, and those who accepted the request could access a coupon to receive a free pair of sneakers. To be worn, as part of the deal, during the Childish Gambino show: a more than acceptable compromise. The official date for the collection to arrive in stores has not been announced yet, but based on what happened at Coachella, we are certain that we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out.
