Ash’s Sneaker Collection, the Pokémon Trainer, is Full of Must-Haves

What was your first style reference? Many of us spent afternoons during the golden age of our childhood envying the clothing of Ash, the legendary Pokémon trainer, because he was allowed to wear baggy pants, basketball trainers, and open vests every day.

However, Ash’s dressing style has evolved over the years. From the first time he wore a pair of white and black sneakers to 2022, the protagonist of the Japanese Pokémon anime has gone through 9 different styles. The shoes are the element that has always been renewed.

These are models born from the imagination of the team led by designer Satoshi Tajiri, but their inspiration comes from some of the most iconic sneakers in the history of this footwear genre.

1997: Nike Blazer High

The structure that isolates the central part of the shoe resembles the iconic Nike Blazer. Just imagine this model in reverse colors, with the central part in white and the sides in black.

2002: Reebok Classic Nylon

The presence of stripes defined the style of Ash’s Pokémon sneakers in this new millennium season. We can find a very similar pair in the Reebok archive.

2006: Nike Dunk

In the third style variation of Ash’s sneakers, it seems that this model, which has been relaunched by Nike in recent years, peeks out from his baggy pants.

2010: Nike Air Trainer 3

The reds and blacks remain in the design of the shoe, although this time a touch of white has been added.

2013 – adidas Top Ten

The elegant style returns in the Bred colorway for the 2013 edition.

2016 – Air Jordan XIII

In this year, Ash wears one of his most groundbreaking sneakers ever, very similar in silhouette to the unmistakable Air Jordan XIII.

2017 – Converse All Star

In Ash’s Pokémon collection, a Converse All Star could not be missing.

2018 – Puma Slipstream x Shibuya

The partnership between Puma and Shibuya has produced a trainer in a Smurf color, perfect to match Ash’s chosen shoes in 2018.

2019 – adidas Yeezy Boost 350

The most popular sneakers from Kanye serve as inspiration for the 2019 model of the Pokémon star.
