adidas ZX 750 ‘Döner’

The ZX 750 ‘Döner’ celebrates JD Sports’ new flagship store in Berlin.

JD Sports continues its global expansion by opening a brand new flagship store in Berlin. To commemorate the occasion, the British retailer asked adidas for a special edition of the ZX 750 ‘Döner’, limited to only 200 pairs. The JD store in Berlin is one of the largest in Europe, spanning over 1000 square meters on two floors.

As you can guess, the inspiration for this release was drawn from the distinctive döner kebab, a sandwich consisting of flatbread filled with meat, vegetables, and sauce, which has become an integral part of German culinary culture and street food worldwide. If you’ve ever been to the German capital, you’ve likely seen many döner stalls around, showcasing the influence of the local Turkish community on German society.

Regarding the sneaker, the upper features a mix of leather and mesh, with white and red intertwining harmoniously to create a modest design without being over the top. The ZX 750 logo finds its place on the lateral heel, while the tongue label displays a graphic reminiscent of a döner chef carving meat off the grill.

The adidas ZX 750 ‘Döner’ is currently available only at the official store in Berlin, so it’s unclear if this model will later arrive at other European retail locations.
