Adidas and Missoni, with their first collaboration, have created a true cult shoe: the Ultraboost in knit, launched last April for Spring/Summer 2019. A limited edition accompanied by running clothing pieces, rooted in the Italian fashion house. The sporty DNA of adidas has been reinterpreted drawing inspiration from Ottavio Missoni who, before becoming an internationally renowned designer, was also an athlete. As a hurdler, the Missoni patriarch even participated in the 1948 London Olympics finishing sixth in the final standings of the 400m hurdles. An Olympian with a passion for color, he showcased by designing the Italian team uniforms in London ’48. Last spring, adidas’s sporting dynamism, combined with the iconic works and prints of the Italian brand, captivated sneaker enthusiasts worldwide. But it doesn’t end there, as the two brands have teamed up once again launching the Vol. 2, One Step Further.
This is a second collection of sneakers and clothing items, broader and more articulated, that modernizes sports with vibrant nuances and functional design. It is the use of colors that shapes the clothing items and sneakers of the collection, transforming them into a living material and complementing every movement. Energy and agility are also highlighted by the perfect bouncing of the new sneakers, the Pulseboost: a new element that makes the step even faster and lighter. Adidas x Missoni was launched today, November 7, with futuristic images and a video that perfectly reflects the energetic spirit of the collection, featuring choreographies, steps, and contemporary dance jumps. The video ends with an explosion of colors, the same expressed by the clothing pieces and sneakers of the collection, between harmony and disruption.
