The sustainable version of the Stan Smiths was presented by adidas Originals a few months ago. Now, the first images of the 2021 sustainability-focused sneaker innovations have appeared on the web. To visually emphasize this progressive shift towards green, adidas has partnered with the greenest character of the Muppet universe, the incomparable Kermit the Frog. The new Kermit the Frog x adidas Originals Stan Smith are born.
Created from recycled materials, these shoes come in a classic white color with details in a vibrant lime green. The Kermit inscription can be seen on the outer side of the upper, featuring an image of the frog with folded arms – or rather legs – near the heel (as seen in the images shared on Twitter by the Sneaker News portal).

On the back of the shoe, under the adidas Originals logo, you can also find one of Kermit’s most famous quotes, “It’s not easy being green,” which clearly nods to the eco-friendly nature of the footwear. The launch price of the new Kermit the Frog x adidas Originals Stan Smith has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to be around $90 for the U.S. market.
