Twenty-seven years ago, Tinker Hatfield adopted the Air Technology (patented in 1979) making it visible for the first time in a sneaker and creating a concept that would revolutionize the universe of Nike sneakers. The Air Max system has since then influenced not only the way of making sneakers but has also contributed to the formation of a true subculture/cult centered around this specific Nike model. In spring 2015, the Air Max Family welcomes a new member, the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire, with an ultra-flexible and lightweight sole and a synthetic suede upper with perforations.
