Kristen Stewart, a Queer Fashion Icon with Glam Rock Style
She is a fashion icon, and she fully embraces it… Kristen Stewart shines not only on the big screen but also on the red carpet. Lately, the American actress has been making waves with her remarkable and eye-catching looks during the promotional tour for the film Love Lies Bleeding, in which she plays the role of Lou, a gym club manager who falls madly in love with Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder.
The reason behind the attention? Kristen Stewart has quickly established herself as a gender-fluid fashion figure with a rock ‘n’ roll personality, combining glamorous inspirations with punk influences, exemplified by her mullet haircut.
This attitude was widely demonstrated in 2018 when the actress, who has been a Chanel ambassador since 2013, took off her high heels – a rebellious move against the strict dress code – on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. More recently, she appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine wearing a jockstrap and leather jacket.
The Looks for the Love Lies Bleeding Promotion in New York
Far from the polished and naive image associated with her early days and her role in Twilight alongside Robert Pattinson, the openly queer actress since 2020 has been showcasing bold and even provocative looks seen recently in New York.
Proof of this is her Chanel look, consisting of a short beige silk shirt paired with a twisted knit pant – perfectly on-trend with the no pants fashion – and brown pumps. Another notable silhouette is a tight-fitting top paired with a mini shorts, accessorized with leg warmers and pumps.
Always pushing boundaries, the actress dares to wear garters with a leather suit jacket. This resembles her red carpet appearance at the Love Lies Bleeding premiere in Los Angeles on March 5, where Kristen Stewart wore an ultra-revealing bodysuit from the label Bettter, elevated by Chanel pumps.
The film Love Lies Bleeding, directed by Rose Glass and starring Kristen Stewart, will be in theaters on March 15, 2024.
