Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop
The mood is reflected in the brand’s graphic: that Meadham Kirchhoff in pure 1950s horror style, between The Addams Family and Tim Burton’s Ed Wood. The English brand collaborates for the fourth time with Topshop: a limited-edition of about 80 pieces, including dresses, accessories, jewelry, and shoes that you can find in stores. The stated inspiration of the two Brit designers (Edward M. and Benjamin K. met at Central St Martins in London) is the all-girl band The Cherries, a rebellious musical collective famous for its songs/stories/fairy tales that mix gothic, glam, and punk, with influences from Marilyn Manson, the Spooky Kids, and Kembra Pfahler.
The mantra of the collection? “Even our models tell stories: each dress & jacket is inspired by one of our muses (there are 4 Cherries, ndr), and wearing them means feeling exactly like your favorite band girl…”, say the two designers.
